A total of 83 indigenous families became the beneficiaries of Project Saysay of GN Power Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GN Power Dinginin Ltd. Project Saysay is a year-round “Plant-a-love” community outreach program, wherein birthday celebrants of the month choose a group to spend their birthday with for a cause.
They chose the IP communities of the Magbukon tribe in Brgy. Dangcol, Balanga City and the Biaan Aeta Community in Brgy. Biaan, Mariveles, Bataan.
Each of the 23 Magbukon indigenous families received a sack of rice, bag of, hygiene kits for 45 children, in addition to the used clothing and gardening tools donated by the company.
In Biaan, 60 families also received sacks of rice, hygiene kits for children and picture frames that they will use as part of their tourism campaign for the native museum they will build.
